I use Twitter to:
Follow friends so I can read what is happening in their lives
Follow interesting people...some that make me laugh with their ideas and their take on life
Follow my local newspaper...I receive breaking news as it happens
Follow people in the technical field who provide information relevant to what I am interested in. Like TechCrunch.
Follow The Onion for comedy
So, I can see that my best friend is asking if we can get together for lunch at the very same location as I get local breaking news! I don't have to go to several programs and sites to find all the information I am looking for, I find it all on my Twitter.
