    October 2003
There has been a large increase in email scams recently. These scams typically arrive in your e-mail box asking you to click on a link to update your personal information. Be very cautious and alert because most of the time these are crooks trying to get your money or your identity. The most recent of these scams mention a bogus credit card transaction of $234.95. Others say that you need to update your PayPal or E-Bay information. The longest lasting scam has to do with a fictitious $25 million dollars waiting for you in Nigeria. Most of these scams look legitimate BUT they are not. It is always best to go directly to any website and not click on the e-mail links to update personal or credit card information.
